The Nike Air Force 1 Mid has taken the last eight months as an opportunity to return in some old-school styles. For the remaining months in 2022, the silhouette is taking a break from the familiar to take on new looks like a recently-surfaced option featuring Nike React foam.
While not the first time Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design receives an update to its cushioning, the upcoming Air Force 1 Mid React delivers the latest, and in an all-new color palette. “Black” takes over most of the pair, with off-white-colored mesh panels interrupting around the heel. Lace guards take on a non-standard look, like the lockdown straps around the ankle. The reworked Air Force 1 features an inner-bootie that promises a more snug, but comfortable ride that couples with the React-cushioning underfoot to further distance Kilgore’s design from its performance-basketball past.
Nike.com launch details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon.
